tooth/gum ache

I have a dull pain in my gum between two lower, back teeth.  When I floss between these two teeth, it is quite sensitive, and when I push with my finger on the back side between the two teeth, there is also some pain.  It's gotten worse over the past 3-4 days.  There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong.  Any ideas on what this might be?  Should I see a dentist?
Thanks!

Thanks for the information.  I have regular cleanings (every 6 months).  I'll probably see the doctor this coming week as the pain doesn't seem to be going away.

Thanks so much.

When was your last dental checkup?  Try to floss and rinse the area out as much as you can, but do it gently as to not irritate the area too much.  I would suggest seeing a dentist if its been awhile since your last check up.  There may be an abscess.
