tooth infection

i have been on antibiotics for 5 days for a tooth infection. The lower part of my jaw and my neck in the last 2 days have become extremely swollen and i am having a hard time swallowing. I have an appt on thursday for surgery but it seems the infection is getting worse. Should I go to the hospital?

What did you do? I’m in the same position and I don’t know what’s best?

I would make an emergency appointment with your Dentist.
It sounds as though you need a root canal treatment or the tooth extracting.

Hope this helps

I wouldn't wait.  You may need a different antibiotic.  If you can't reach your dentist vy phone, a trip to the ER would be in order esp.  if swallowing is becoming difficult.

Good luck and let us know how you are,
