white spots under tongue

My dentist found a white patch just under my tongue next to the piece that attaches to my mouth.  She said it was appro. 7cm x 6cm  or it could of been mm.  She told me that I needed to have a biopsy asap.  What are the chances that this is cancer.  I have smoked for 12 years.  I am not a heavy drinker at all.

With the location and size cancer is very possible.  Get to an oral surgeon asap to get it biopsied.  However, good thing about oral cancer is, it can be found and treated very early.  Good luck!
