11 year old on Zoloft - headaches?

My son has been on Zoloft for about 3 months. He started out on 25 mg with no side effects. Two weeks after he increased to 50 mg he began a headache - meaning it has not stopped. Here we are, going on week three of a headache. However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him. He is feeling completely better aside from this headache.

If someone were to experience a "zoloft headache", would the headache appear immediately upon use of zoloft or several weeks into treatment???

Thanks for your time!

Anne

You notice changes whenever you change doses.  Also, Zoloft isn't recommended for someone that young -- why is he on it?

I do not treat children, so please ask this question on the child behavior forum where they might have more experience with zoloft...this sounds to me like a heavy dose for an eleven year old, but I do not know why it was prescribed, so can not comment.  Paxiled is correct, a change of dose can cause a new set of side effects.
