Ambien

Hi I have been taking ambien for what initially seemed like a short time, but I have found if I don't have it I turn ferrall.
I was taking 1 tablet at night for a while and now I have been taking 10 at once, I can't get off the stuff and it scares me.

is this okay to take this amount? I have no side effects and feel grand in the morning.

Any suggestions?
Mirius

The TRUTH:

Ambien is very very addicting, I've seen people take 1 and fall over on the floor in a drunk state not knowing what's going on.

First of all you MUST ween yourself off of it, cause abrubtly stopping taking that much of a medication could be fatal.

Now, to be honest with you the best, safest, most effective, 100X better than Ambien is an illegal drug called Marijuana.

Mariuana is not physically addicting, and can be abruptly stopped even after chronic use with no permenent side affects, loss of apetite, sex, and boredum follow.  And if you stop taking it you do NOT become dependant on it to sleep.  But it's safe to use once a day before bedtime for sleep.

Extensive studies have shown marijuana to be harmless, even in cases of smoking 5 joints a day!  Although that much smoke in the lungs is not good and can cause cancer.  Minor use just to sleep though has been proven to have wonderful results.

Marijuana may be psychologicaly addicting, not physically though, like nicotine.  Even though at one point in my life I was high 100% of my waking hours for 2 months....I stopped abrubtly and found it quite simple to not do any more.  Everyone is different though.  I'd say if you only did it once before you go to sleep every day and not any other time you shouldn't have to worry about it at all.  Hell Aspirin kills 1000 people a year, Marijuana has killed 0 people in the last 5000 years.

Despite what you may have been told or grew up being told, marijuana is the most useful drug for more symptoms than any 10 drugs combined in the face of the Earth.

No Dr., or any other professional would recommend anything illegal, even if they do it themselves:)  You'd be suprised the amount of the population does this drug.  More than 50%.

Hell I grew up being told in school and by my parents (Who I later found smoked it anyway:)  I was so scared to even hear the name of the evil drug.  I'd never ever ever try it, I might die, it would make me crazy, etc!  Well my wife finally made me try it, and I became disgusted with the BS spouted out about marijuana.  The only reason we don't make hemp, one of the strongest fibers in the world is because DuPont, who makes synthetic fibers used their "influence" to ban the growing of it:)

Anyway my point is marijuana has never killed anyone, and is the BEST sleeping agent on the face of the planet.

Remember Marijuana is illegal, as Alcohol once was....er at least it's illegal in the United States...............................So you may not want to risk having an illegal substance until marijuana prohibition is lifted.  By that time however you could be dead from old age, too many political aspects need to keep marijuana illegal to keep the power/profit vested interests these people hoarde in self-egotism:)  Mostly though...think about it, marijuanna replaces thousands of expensive drugs with no lasting bad side affects.  If marijuana become legal in the USA, every pain killer, every congestion, headace, cold medicinces, etc would all become USELESS.  Not to mention marijuanna is cheaper than any of them:)  You actually think that 5% of the population that owns 95% of the entire country are going to risk going bankrupt?

Also, unlike those drugs 80% of the pouplation take for just about everything, which many cause decresed libido, decreased hunger, and all those other negative side affects.  Marijuana increase hunger, sex drive, etc while also being the best medication to use in more than half of all those other meds that give you just 1 of those positive results, while also including 1 or even dozens of negative side affects.

I am not a Dr., the things expressed here are based on research, private, government, etc.  Hell back in the day the givernment did extensive testing on the drug to find something harmful about it so as to make an excuse not to use it:)  Nothing at all was found to be harmful minus short-term effects mostly for chronic users such as short term memory loss, etc.  This has also been proven to be temporary only.

I just recently took myself off Ambien.  I had been on Ambien for almost 2 years.  I was taking 10 mg. every night to help me fall asleep because of all of the anxiety I suffered from throughout the day.  I recently lost my job, so I figured there was no need for me to be on Ambian, since it wasn't like I had to get up at 6 a.m. anymore.  Well, what I didn't realize was that I wasn't going to be falling asleep until 3 a.m. for a couple of weeks!!!  I thought I was going to lose my mind.  I thought I was tired by 10 p.m., but when I would do my usual ritual of laying down to watch 'Friends' at 10:30, something would happen, and it's like I would wake up all over again.  Lucky for me while I was going through this I didn't have to go to work, so I was able to wean myself off the med.  I still don't have the ability to fall asleep like I did when I was on Ambian, but I will fight it on my own, because if there is something I can do to help my body and mind in a way other than taking drugs, then I will do it.  At this time, I'm falling asleep by about midnight, and it has taken about a month for me to get just to this point.

10 at once? yes, that is bad. i have been taking ambien for a couple of years and only take 1/2 of a 5 mg at bedtime and if i wake up i take the other 1/2. i am now totally dependent on the damned things to sleep, but the alternative is worse since i have a very demanding job etc.

you better see someone about this prob. of course, they will probably prescribe a different sleep med or anti-anxiety med to wean you off ambien. if i had some time off, i would just stick it out and quit the stuff cold turkey and live with the consequences.
