I think all the sensitive people come to this forum. People are sensitive, and these are strong medications, and things like burning sensations and odd feelings are commonly reported. If you are going to go off of it, do it over a three week period, ending up with the lowest dose every third day for the last week before you stop.
I took Lexapro for a while and I think I know of the reaction you speak of, though I'm not sure. Did your head get hot in terms of temperature, or were you simply having a feeling as though your brain were on lots of coffee without the jitters or need to make impulsive reactions?
Head is hot but not no temperature, no headache, ears got hot at times to. I have had tingling in my limbs and down my neck at times but not the heat (burning sensation) like I do in my head. It is not a hot flash but stays constant for hours when it is bad. I still function with normal routines but it is not a pleasant feeling.....
I'm also currently on lexapro and very sensitive to medications. My symptoms include slurred speech with a drowsy/drunk feeling. Brain fog can't think, with slow replies and slow reactions. Sometimes I get mixed up with my words but most of the time I can hold out alright and not have any problems. Been on the medication going on 5 months.
ALSO WITH MEDICATIONS IVE LEARNED THAT BECAUSE MOST DOCTORS YOU GO TO ARENT ON THE MEDICATION THEY MAKE ASSUMPTIONS THAT THE MEDICINE DOESN'T DO CERTAIN SIDE EFFECTS WHICH IS NOT TRUE. IF YOU BELIEVE IT'S THE MEDICATION THEN PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN AND TELL THEM OTHERWISE PROLONGING IT WILL JUST MAKE IT WORST.
Sorry about the caps but I just needed to get my point across.
Good luck everyone,
***@**** for any lexapro questions you may have.

I started taking Lexapro five days ago. Since then my heart has pounded off & on, but last night I felt like I was on fire from the inside. It started in the back of my head, and ran down my spine to my arms, torso, and legs. I have never felt anything like that before. I was freaking out. Then as quickly as it came it passed. I am worried it may happen again & started to rethink taking this drug. I have never been on any drugs before, so this has me really worried.
I HAVE BEEN ON LEXAPRO FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW AND AS SOON AS I TAKE IT I GET THE WORST BURNING SENSATION ON THE TOP RIGHT SIDE OF MY HEAD. ALONG WITH THIS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE WORST DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, DRUNKEN FEELING EVER. I HAVE GONE FROM E.R'S TO E.R'S AND NO ONE HAS A CLUE OF WHAT I AM TALKLING ABOUT. UNTIL NOW THAT I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS PAGE. WHEN ON THIS MEDICATION I FEEL LIKE I AM SOMEONE ELSE WITH NO EMOTIONAL FEELING WHAT SO EVER. THIS MEDICATION HAS BEEN FLUSHED DOWN MY TOILET AND I RECOMMEND TO ALL CURRENTLY ON THIS DRUG TO DO THE SAME! DOES NOT HELP ANXIETY! ONLY PROVIDES DEPRESSION!
