Do I fall into psychotic behavior without even knowing it?

Me and my girlfriend been together for several years. We don't have any problems at home or anything And we do love each other allot. We went out the other night for drinks had a really good time loving and kissing each other and just having fun. When it was time to go home i drove and we got into a argument i don't know why or what about  but she punched or slapped me in the face. The next thing i remember is the car was off the road and into the bushes. I couldn't get it back in gear and ask her to turn the lights on. Her nose was bleeding really bad and i started freaking out and ask her what happened. She said i punched her in the face three times. I don't remember any of this and i never ever done anything like this in my life. I have no idea how or why this happened. We broke up the next day and i still cant explain any of this behavior. What should i do now. Is there anybody i should go see about this.

John

There is good reason for you to seek a consultation with a psychiatrist who could help sort this out by asking you more information. This is not a psychotic manifestation but still needs to be checked out.
