Withdrawl of zoloft

My husband has been taking Zoloft 150 mg for about 8 months once a day. He recently "cold turkey" the drug and seens to be even crazier now before he even started taking the medication. How long until his brain should go back to normal function?

I agree with the advice you have already been given...going off cold turkey is wrong, he needs to go back on and wean with doctor's advice on how to do that.

Tell him to go  back on the Zoloft and see if his symptoms go away.  If they do, he's in withdrawal, and needs to taper off slowly, which is what you need to do with these meds.

Not sure.  Nobody should discontinue their medication without first consulting their doctor.
It may also depend on whether the problem being treated has stabilized or not.
Patients who stop taking their medication can sometimes be at greater risk so it would be advisable to have your husband see his doctor.

Psychotherapy can often be more effective (long-term) than some medications so that may also be something worth looking into.
