Lexapro withdrawal?

My son was killed about 6 weeks ago, and after a month my family physician started me on Lexapro, 10 mg at night and Ambien 10 mg.  I felt a little tired & a weird feeling in my head the first few days but other than that it seems to be helping, and I am able to sleep, which significantly helps my coping abilities during the day, and am more focused.  I keep reading horrible stories of people who go off Lexapro and have awful problems.  How likely is that to occur?

I am so sorry to hear about your son's death. You shouldn't have a problem getting off of the Lexapro if you stay at that dose, and then wean yourself over a three week period in order to stop...the last week taking the lowest dose every third day.

Hi Lori.  I'm very sorry about your loss also.  I hope you are able to take the time to process this.

Best wishes.
