Sorry....one more question

My doctor just decided to try me on Effexor.....After reading extensively on this forum, I am now terrified to try it.  How common are these nasty "withdrawl symptoms", with the "BRAIN ZAPS"?????!!!!!!? and the side effects?  It seems people post more problems with this drug than others....
Obviously, I am just starting on it, and recognize that I will most likely be on some form of meds for the rest of my life, so coming off of it isn't likely in my near future, but I don't want to start something that is going to make my already troublesome issues worse!!  Do you recommend this drug, or should I ask my doc about another?  Please see my other post for more history.  Thanks!!!!

If you go off slowly under doctor's care you should not experience any significant withdrawal effects.

"Brain Zaps" are a side effect in all anti depressants when stopping them, especially cold turkey.  However, if your being weened off under proper care, you may not experience them at all.
