SUDDEN MUSCLE IMPULSES WHILE IN REST STATE.

ALL RIGHT, WHILE I HAD A BLACK OUT SPELL NUMBER OF YARS BACK MY NEW PROBLEM AROSE A FEW MONTHS TO A YEAR LATER AND HAVE BEEN WITH ME EVER SINCE. WHILE IN REST STATE: ON SET OF SLEEP, SITTING IN A RECLINER, DOSING OFF WHILE SITTING, THE NORMAL STUFF OF RESTING. SOMETHING CAUSES EIGTHER MY LEGS OR WHOLE BODY TO FLINCH LIKEN TO BEING SHOCKED. IT IS ESPECIALLY AN EXPERIENCE WHILE DOSED OFF BECAUSE IT SUDDENLY AWAKES YOU. I DID HAVE A NECK INJURY AT THE AGE OF 12, WHILE ME A FRIEND THOUGHT WE COULD WRESTLE LIKE THE WWF SUPERSTARS AT THAT TIME. HE COULD NOT HOLD AND GO OVER HIS HEAD WITH ME IN A SUPLEX MOVE. HE COULD NOT HOLD IT, SO I CAME DOWN ON THE BACK OF MY NECK AND HEAD. I WAS MOMENTARIALLY PARALYZED FOR 30-60 MINUTES. IT HURT LIKE A BIG HEADACHE. I WHEN TO A MAJOR TRAUMA CENTER IN BATON ROUGE TO GET CHECKED OUT A DAY LATER. IWAS PUT IN A NECK BRACE FOR 8 MONTHS BECAUSE MY NECK SLIPPED OUT OF POSITION. ALMOST CAUSING IT TO BE BROKEN.
I GOT BETTER BUT EVER SINCE THAT BLACK-OT SPELL I STATED I HAVE HAD THESE IMPULSES THAT CAUSE MY BODY TO FLINCH. NOW THIS DOES NOT OCCUR MINUTE BY MINUTE OR DAILY, JUST EVER NOW AND THEN. MONTHLY ON A AVERAGE OF ONCE A WEEK. IT IS 3-4-10 I HAD TWO EPISODES TODAY.
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THR PROBABLE CAUSE OF THIS. I KNOW IT IS NEUROLOGICAL IN NATURE. PLEASE HELP ME. THANKS. MY EMAIL:***@****

This is the kind of problem for which there will never be a exact diagnosis.  It's very unlikelythat this has anything to do with your physical trauma.  It could be metabolic and that is something that would require a physical examination and some laboratory tests.

Hello. I have been experiencing the exact same thing for as long as I can remember. Not daily, but like you prolly once a week or so. Its just like you described- a sensation of momentary muscle contraction through my whole body. I've been doing electrical work over 20 years, and have been hit with 277v a few times. That's what it feels like. I never remember to ask the doctor about it, but like you I'm curious as to the cause. Take care, GM
