Short-term loss of vision

I saw my doctor for the second time for a follow-up after an x-ray and this is a man that I adore.  He left the room to get a report.  When he came back I couldn't see anything.  I could only hear his voice.  He asked me a question which I could not answer  properly because I couldn't see the expression in his eyes  in order to interpret what he meant by "Is that it?" which he repeated twice. I  think this doctor is as fond of me as I am of him.  As soon as he left I could see again. What is the cause of this short-term loss of vision and is there a medical term for it?

This is call a dissosiative reaction. You haven't mentioned the genders of you or the doctor, but these things usually occur when there is some type of "forbidden" sexual current at work.
