true half-life of prozac

I started taking prozac about 6 weeks ago.  By the fifth day I started to have a small rash, but it eventually went away.  I continued to take the prozac and on my sisth week i broke out into hives from head to toe.  there is so much confusing information on the half life of prozac.  some info says 5 days others say months.  I have now been onsteroids for 2 weeks and am continuing to have major hives.  When will this end?

The "wash out period" for prozac is usually 5-6 weeks. Hives are not usually assosiated with prozac, although possible, so be sure and look for other causes.

When I started Prozac I came down with itchy hands and feet. As weird as it seems, it is a symptom some get. My Dr. took me off and within 2 days the itching was gone. He switched me to Luvox. Wow what a difference. Maybe you could ask your Dr. about Luvox.
