Supplements

I have been reading on this forum the benefits of fish oil and magnesium. My psychiatrist has stressed the importance of folic acid, which I take daily with my muti-vitamin. I currently take 250 mg. of magnesium daily. Could you please share any research or your opinion on adding these to my daily regimen? I also need the type of fish oil supplement I should (or not) take as well as the strength. Additionally, please comment on the amount of magnesium which may provide benefits.
Thanks in advance.

Fish oil over the counter should be pharmaceutical grade..I think there is only one dose. Magnesium dose depends on your purpose...slow mag, two pills a day, helps with leg cramps, and is  plenty for any other reason.

Thanks for this additional information. Readers - please give your input. I would love to know if anyone knows of any published data...haven't had the chance to do a literature search on it yet.

I read on another site where 400 mg of magnesium oxide twice a day and 500 mg of gaba (amino acid) 3 X a day can eliminate panic attacks and anxiety, but that is the only place I've ever seen that.  Does anybody know where I can see some studies of that published?
