tempoaral lobe epilepsy?

I recently had an experience which i thought to be depression and involved me not being able to concentrate, read and feeling extemely anxious. This got worse untill I lost touch with what was happening around me and couldn't have even the most simple of conversations. I became more confused and then began to have intense religious experiences.

I saw a TV program in with a guy who suffered from temporal lobe epilepsy had religious experiences and even though he was god. Could it be that i suffered from some sort of epilepsy?

You may be suffering from Major Depression with psychotic features given the symptoms you described.

Though symptoms may be similar with temporal lobe epilepsy, the probability is low given your good mental condition prior to your symptomatology.

I recommend consulting your physician for a thorough evaluation. You may benefit from tests that can rule out physical causes, medications and therapy for your condition

I am no doctor but that does not sound like epilepsy. It sounds like psychosis of some sort. You need to get a psychiatrict evaluation as soon as possible. You may have a physical condition that is bringing that on.

Drugs and alcohol can also cause temporary psychosis so if you are doing either of those you may want to stop and see if the symptoms go away.
