Withdrawals

I have recently weaned myself from Celexa.  I started slowly...prob every 3 days then 4 then 5 and now I am trying to not got back.  My head is swimming slightly and there is a little nausea when I'm up and about the house.  There is a little edginess there but manageable.  Then it goes away.  I haven't taken a Celexa in probably a week.  I hope this swimming feeling goes away soon.  Anyone feel this way also?

Thanks for you help,

Maryland

You have already received the best advice..I have nothing to add except to emphasize that this is mild and short lived...

Your taper was probably faster than advisable, and you should do this under the monitoring of a psychiatrist who understands withdrawal, which means the rare one.  On the other hand, your symptoms are very mild -- often called the Paxil flu -- and so you should be fine within a short time.  Try taking a good dose of fish oil every day; it's said to help with some of your symptoms, though not all of them.  I've read some people say heavy exercise helped them, too.  If it gets worse, the remedy is to go back on it at the lowest dose at which you felt fine and taper more slowly.

No, I don't feel like that at present.  If anything I feel totally wiped out after I took an antihistamine tablet for hay fever.  I don't have symptoms but nor can I stay awake.

One would expect the side-effects to wear off shortly.  Probably over the next week or two.
It's possible your taper was too fast.  The doctor here usually recommends the lowest dose every day, then every other day, then every third day.  Each for a week.  I hope I got that right.
You could try standing up slowly.  I don't know if that will help you much now.
I expect these symptoms will pass before too long but it is always best to get input from a doctor.

Overall it sounds as though you're doing OK.  I would continue to persevere but if things don't improve or get worse I would contact your doctor.
