Zoloft , Celexa do all ssri's rreact the same?

I've been taking Zoloft for 6 months for anxiety.  I would like to know if the constant anxiety that I have been experiencing  is really my bodys reaction to the Zoloft.  The anxiety I speak of feels different than the anxiety I experienced prior to taking the Zoloft.  My mood has improved however, my insides feel as though I am constantly ready for battle.  I have constant restless legs(never had prior to medication), my face and arms tingle more like prickle relentlessly, I feel flushed and my skin on my face and chest are reddish in appearance.  When you press on the skin it quickly turns white like when you have a sunburn.  I still tremor like when you are really nervous.  Throughout my body I describe it as constant over-stimulation.  I feel so keyed-up and agitated I find it difficult to concentrate and just be.
I was wondering how well Celexa works for anxiety, and if I might respond different to a different ssri?  My blood pressure has been slightly raised (still within normal range) so someone suggeated a beta-blocker, or is it not right to take another med to counter the side-effects of another?  Would your recommendation be to switch meds, add meds?  If Zoloft isn't being accepted by my body well, maybe another one would?  Thankyou for your time and care you have given to all of us on this board.  I apologize for the rambling, I just really need to know what I should do by someone who knows.  Many Thanks.

I have been on celexa for about a year now and am finally getting better. The last 7 years have been tough but this medication works great. I only take 5ml since too much make me dissy. My biggest problem was I suffered from sleep apnia which caused most of my problems. Took many years to discover this.

I take Paxil and understand that weight gain is a side effect.
It is odd that listed in the medical site is weight loss, but everyone I know who has used it complains of weight gain.  I have gained 20 pounds and was already needing to lose 25 or so lbs.  I worry about the health risk of this excess weight.  Fat does not make me happy.  Diets seem useless.

Hi everyone, I have been on Buspar and Zoloft combined. I went from 25 to 50 to 100 and then to 150 mgs of Zoloft all the way back down to 25 mgs. I still take the 15 mg. of Buspar in the morning and before bed. It helps me to sleep better (Buspar) ANyways, the reason is I have OCD and anxiety, So far neither has really helped for the ocd, but works wonders for anxiety.
I went to the Phychiatrist today and she recommended keep taking the Buspar and switching me to 20 mg. of Celexa along with 150 mg of Welbutrin a day. I am going to try this but would like to hear any comments on the differences of Zoloft and Celexa/Welbutrin. I believe the Welbutrin is also because my sex life has taken a vacation! My husband is none too thrilled. It would be great to help with my mental health and be able to actually have a little bit of fun if you know what I mean!
Any posts would be appreciated !

I have taken paxil, prozac, and zoloft all in the past, and each one affected me differently. Zoloft was the worse for me, and prozac worked the best for me when i was treated for postpartum depression. I took paxil for panic attacks and that worked well, but I didn't like the additional 30lbs i gained while being on it. Prozac I lost weight.

I have been on Celexa for 5 days at 20mg, i also take Dexedrine, I have ADD and Depression and Social Anxiety. Even though my Dr. said it would take 1 to 4 weeks for the Celexa to work, I have already noticed a difference, im in a good mood, I want to do things, get out of the house etc... but my problem is similar to yours which is...

1. I have alot of energy, as if i had had 6 cups of expresso.
2. My legs are shaking, I can stop them but it becomes a habit now.
3. I can't sleep very well, I have alot of energy in my legs and can't sleep, I took some Restoril but even that did not get me sleeping very well.
4. I am however still focusing pretty welkl with the Dexedrine for my ADD even though im a little more hyper, more energy etc...

So that's my experience with Celexa so far..

Each of the ssri's react slightly differently. It sounds like you are having too much of an adrenergic response from Zoloft, and that is not uncommon.

You can talk to your doctor about reducing the dose or switching to some other. Celexa would be a good one to try next.

It is better, in general, to have just one medication, rather than to counteract the side effects. That can be done, but should be done only if the primary medication, zoloft, is working so well you want to continue with it.
