Sorry, that is not a question I can safely answer...it is between you and your doctor, and somewhat dependent on your general health, other medications, etc.
I just went off Wellbutrin. My doc said it was safe at 150mg to stop after about a year. I want to try to wean off all meds(there's actually only 2). Any depression I suffered came in the early 90's due to a major life event and I was put on a medicine shop of stuff. 2009, I am(was, still can be) on the Wellbutrin and the one I wanted to get to was Klonopin. This drug, more then any I've had I want to stop since it is the first and longest I've been on. I want to see the real world without the meds. Does it help? I don't know, I have moved on with therapy and have agreat family and life. I think my body may need the thing more then myself. I've tried so many times to get off, and the lowest I've got to was about 1/2 mg 2x's a day, and then it feels like an elephant on my chest and I go back to the 2 mg's 2x's a day. And so it begins again. I can't tell if it is physiological or a real need for that drug anymore.
Are those feelings just withdrawl symptoms(I know the drug has a very long 1/2 life)?
If you suggested a safe way to get off what would it be? I've already done the wean 1/4 mg a week, the every 2 wks when that didn't work.
However, any advice is welcome. By the way, the reason I went off the Wellbutrin is to not have one med cloud the other so I can get an accurate feeling as best as possible as to how the process for weaning the Klonopin is going. Unless you differe, I'venever been one to take 3-4 meds and not know which one is working.
