stressed and not know it?

I am female and 33 years old. Three weeks ago I started to experience tingling in my fingers and a sense of heaviness in my arms. My doctor told me it was nothing to worry about and to try to forget about it. A physiotherapist suggested I had a problem with the T5 vertebrae which could be causing the tingling in my fingers.I worked myself into a terrible state over the symptoms and diagnosed myself with all sorts via the internet! I became so concerned that I have lost my appetite and have begun to feel quite frightened.  In the past week I then started to develop a strange sensation in my feet and legs- not quite tingling- more like a tickly/creeping sensation that comes and goes at various times and on various parts of my feet and legs. I feel tiredness come over me suddenly at times during the day. I convinced myself I was suffering from a serious neurological illness and could almost feel a cloud hanging over me. I went back to my doctor who thinks I am suffering from anxiety and making myself worse by worrying about it. I don't feel stressed about anything in particular. I am getting married and moving house over the coming 6 months but these are all things I'm looking forward to so I'm at a loss to understand how I could be suffering such strong physical symptoms. Is it possible to be stressed without realising it? Is it possible to have physical symptoms of stress even when I feel like I've calmed myself down? And can physical symptoms of stress(tingling, tiredness) persist for most of the day? I do feel slightly better today and am hoping that this is going to pass but would like your opinion.

the answer is yes,physical symptoms of anxiety can persist all day, and usually take just the form you have described, and your doctor is right, the more you worry about it, the more you find, and the worse it gets.

Getting married and moving may be a joyful experience for you to look forward too, but it is also a major transition in life, and your whole safety stability system is being strained to adapt to this newness.  Understanding that may be all you need, but if that doesn't work for you over the next week, think of having a few sessions with a good therapist.

Even though getting married and moving are positive things, they do cause stress...these are big changes in ones life, so yes..you could be experiencing physical symptoms from that type of stress. Glad you are feeling better today!
