mixing medications

my doctor put me on prozac for depression and another doctor put me on phentermine for weight loss.  i was wondering if mixing the 2 drugs was o.k. to do or is this dangerous.  what are the side effects if any to the drugs?  should i be concerned and stop taking the drugs or proceed as usual.  when my doctor put me on prozac i didn't tell them i was on phentermine because i don't want to stop taking it.  so i haven't taken the prozac yet.

Hello,
I don''t know where you are from, but Phentermine is now banned in the US...I Took that for a couple of months (3 years ago) as well as taking xanax as needed for anxiety.  My doctor did not say I couldn't take both, but when I had a physical for health ins...my Blood pressure was through the roof, which had alway's been perfect.  I stopped taking the phentermine immediatley!  And from my experience and a couple others I know that took it, you only loose maybe 25 pounds then put it right back on when you quit taking it.

I don't know enough about your medical status to answer that question for you.  I suggest you talk to both of your doctors so they can coordinate your medical prescription care...it is dangerous not to tell one about the other.  Besides, there is an even better way of controlling your weight for good than a medication...check out masteringfood.com
