I was diagnosed with GAD, OCD and ADHD about 2 months ago. I started out taking 25mg of Zoloft, then 50, 75 and now I am taking 100mg. I felt pretty good when I was taking 50 mg, but since I have been on 100mg (4 days now)I feel much more anxious and I frequently get that "lump in my throat" feeling of panic.
Would the increased dosage cause me to be more anxious? Is it possible that it could diminish in time, just like some others side effects do? (like dry mouth) The doctor wants me to go to 150 mg in about 3 days and I don't know if I could do it. She is hoping that the higher dosage will make me less anxious and also help with the OCD rituals that I do.
One more thing, I take Propecia and I feel as though more hair is falling out now that I have been taking Zoloft. Is there any hair loss associated with Zoloft?
My doctor wants to put me on Strattera in about a month. I have heard mixed results and that makes me nervous.
A little background: I am 40, married, pretty healthy and I had a work related legal issue that brought my anxiety to the surface. I had to testify in front of a regulatory body and it scared the bejesus out of me, even though I knew I had done nothing wrong. I had such a bad panic attack one day that I passed out and my wife found me on the floor. I have been better lately but I feel more anxious and started to dwell and relive the "event" since taking 100 mg of Zoloft every morning.
Any thoughts and help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff
