Some would consider this a form of mania, but it depends more on the extent, what you do when you are extremely happy, how you function when you are flat, etc. I wouldn't jump to a diagnostic conclusion, but if it is troublesome, you should have a thorough evaluation.
Susan,
I've often thought of it that way. Thanks. Sometimes the feeling is more precious than life itself. I was just wondering what the medical term was for my symptom.
Melinda,
I kinda figured that but is "bipolar" the clinical term for my symptom?
That sounds wonderful. Flat and level most of the time, me too.
Then joyous (many never feel this feeling). Be happy about it!
