therapist for high-functioning borderline
I am trying to find the name of a therapist in the Berkeley/Oakland area of California for my husband, who I believe is a high-functioning borderline. He is of genius-level intelligence, intolerant of psychobabble, and psychotherapeutically abused as a child. A tall order. Any suggestions or referrals appreciated. I have already e-mailed a couple of the more specific borderline sites but have not received replies. I intend simply to give him the name(s). Thanks for any help you can give me and my husband, who is in deep distress right now.
Henry Ford Health System is located in Detroit, Michigan. I am not familiar with therapists in California, but you may want to contact the Psychiatry Department at the University of California, Berkeley.
Try contacting any of the Universities in your area. Most will have a wide variety of very good (and cheap) counseling services.
