Ativan addiction

My wife has been taking Ativan and has become dependent on it. She takes 10 pills a day, She has tried suicide numerous times, 4 times in the last few months, She has thoughts of killing people, and herself, she starts crying and can't stop when she doesn't take her pills after a day or two. She has something like a seizure where she can't stop shaking and panic attacks, My wife is a nurse and has been for 25 years, she has a problem but wont seek help. I'm worried because my wife isn't a flakey type of person, she's very intelligent and a very good nurse and has never been a user of drugs or alcohol now she does both. I scared for her I know she's in trouble, as her husband what can I do,to get her help. She told me that she feels like an hour glass with the time running out. she  also came to me a whispered in my ear ":save me." Please Help us

Thank you for the advice, I'm going to get with family members from both sides and set up an intervention right away, I know this is a very serious matter and I appreciate the feedback very much.

Thanks Again

Family Intervention... First thing that come's to my mind.  She truly need's help, not codependent's. What you need to do is not what she is going to like at all. But, to save her life it HAS to be done.  The whisper "save me" is what all you should of needed to here to get the ball rolling. The amount of medication that she is taking ,it wont be long until something tragic happens, to her or someone else.

I'm hoping that you dont take this lightly..
Good Luck
