Abilify and Ambien

My dr put me on ambien 12.5mg to help regulate my sleep, which sounded great to me since I do not remember the last time I had a good night sleep. He also put me on a low dose of abilify 2mg for a week then  up it to 4 mg a day. I slept good last night, went right off to sleep and did not wake up, still woke up tired, shucks!! but the kittne woke me up so who knows what time i would have slept too...anyway, today is my 2nd day on the abilify and muy body is exhausted, I had to lay down this afternoon, My mind and body are soo sluggish, worse than before I started taking them,,,,im so irritated and frustrated now, these were suppose to help me now make me worse...Anyone know if these pills can make you tired? Or have had any experience with them? Thanks

thanks everyone.....i tired switching the abilify to nighttime and that seemed to help a bit, but then I have to take the ambien to sleep...the pharacist said they can make me tired and to try taking i the abilify at diff times of the day and then I might not need the ambien...so i guess its trial and error again......

I have taken ambien almost every night for the past 2 months and I've noticed that I am tired and lethargic and depressed the next day.  I basically just don't have the energy to care about stuff.  Like you, putting make-up on and getting dressed takes a lot of effort.   I also take Zoloft for depression but it's not really making me feel any better.  I  am not sure what you should do.  Like lonewolf says, ask your pharmacist & see if it's a combination of drugs. Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this?  Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's.  Just a thought.

Also, im  very irritated, worse than before...I taek the abilify in the morning and effexor in the afternoon, should I take them together? Im so frustrated Im feel worse not better Im losing my hope again, Its takin gall my energy to get dressed and do my makeup, and im trying not to cry because I am soo exhausted
