Citalopram and seroquel

I have been on citalopram long term for 12 years however after a really severe depressive episode my mood has lifted a bit but my anxiety has been elevated as my doctor decided to change my dose 6 times in 8 weeks. I've been on an even dose for 5 weeks now but things haven't really improved, I was given diazepam but I was resistant to take it because of its addictiveness. Today I saw a psychiatrist who wants me to add in 25mg of Seroquel to try to boost the effectiveness of the citalopram, has anyone else had this type of approach to their medication? I'm also aware there is an interaction between the two meds but I don't know if I'm just scaring myself by looking in depth too much. Any advice would be great?
