Does bdd make people see and belive things that aren't true?

Does a body dismophic disorder sufferer see things that arnt true ,for example ,lets say there fixation was there eye color and they didn't like them because they were a dark color ,would the illness convince them there eye color was turning darker but in reality its the same color as its all ways been but in there heads it has turned darker?

Hello there, if you do a quick internet search you will get lots of results on BDD. But here is a link you might find useful: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/body-dysmo  rphia/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Body dysmorphia can indeed make people magnify percieved flaws about their appearance. Check the link out, there may also be a forum on Medhelp. In most extreme cases sufferers have been known to perform home surgeries on their percieved flaws. It is important to address this with your gp. Best of luck.
