Dr. is taking me off Effexor and giving me Cymbalta

I wanted to know if anyone has been taking effexor for nearly a year my dosage is 150mg twice a day. Now my psychiatrist wants to put me on Cymbalta. He told me that it takes time for my body to accept the change and for a couple of weeks I won't have much of either in my system. I don't know what dosage is yet.

I am wondering if I am doing the right thing. I have been battling severe depression and chronic pain for years.
If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it. I am in the middle of a very bad Fibro Flare with the Fibro Fog.

Thanks, Sharj

My doc did the exact same thing with the same meds. I think most people do fine with either however cymbalta works on one more brain chemicals. I forget the details, so it is a bit better of a drug that effecsor. But we all are different. The drugs are very close to eachother however.

The starting dose of Cymbalta is 30mg. I was on it, and now on 60mg. As for more stimulating, everybody IS DIFFERENT. It doesn't have a stimulating effect on me. I'm bipolar, mostly depressed with small boughts of mania and also on lithium to hopefully even out my moods.
