I have taken effexor before; actually I've taken most everything. But when I have to switch meds I just take ativan or klonopin and it eases my nerves while I'm in transition to the new drug.
So sorry to hear this! Take care of you and know that it does pass. Will your insurance another anti d? Something to look into? Lily
Effexor with draw was the worse withdrawl i ever went through. I was on 200mg and they look me off cold turkey. It took me a good 3 to 6 weeks to feel better. R they switching you to something else? my heart is with you
Hi Poor you I know exactly what your going through I went cold turkey off 150 mg's and I'd been on them 9 years. Your brain has been switched off for five years and we are addicted
after taking them for only 2 months, effexor are highly addictive.
The symptoms you are having is your body - your brain trying to get back to normal, your body is producing too much adrennaline causing palpitations etc. I had palpitaions, body jerks, nausea I used to wake and take a beta blocker I am on 40 mg's of beta blockers and thats after 12 months, also anti-sickness and immodium every morning. If you decide to take a beta blocker remember you will have to wean off that but better that than taking effexor. Don't go back on them because it won't get rid of withdrawals infact they can go worse because it's another change for your brain to deal with. A poor lady in our group CITA came off and went back on and she has been ill for 18 months, how horrible is that !!
Because you are off all meds you can take 5HTP it converts to seretonin of a day or if taken of a night converts to melatonin which is great if your not sleep well which you probably aren't. Ask the health shop how to build up slowly.
Take care
Love
