Xanax is one of those medications that seems to be very addictive.

My Doctor said that Xanax can be used on a regular basis, or as required.  I mostly take it regulary but sometimes I feel fine and don't bother.

It was the Zoloft that made me feel awful.  After stopping Zoloft (which was prescribed for my anxiety) I had a feeling of pins and needles in my head and I felt dizzy.  So that is why I went back onto Xanax.

I mostly used Valerin (a herbal tablet) when coming off the Zoloft.  This was ok but not as strong as the Xanax.

Ahhh!  Its a never ending circle!  Don't worry too much...go and talk to your Doctor, I'm sure you'll be fine.  Feel free to send me a note whenever you need to - I know how you are feeling!

Best wishes.

Don't make any changes to the Xanax without consulting your psychiatrist first. Withdrawing from it immediately can be dangerous. If you have long term anxiety disorder Klonopin which is longer lasting and has less of a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to is safer. I've taken it 10 years without a problem. I would consider switching over to that or something else rather than just stopping the Xanax. If you do get your psychiatrist's permission to stop the Xanax entirely remember even if its discontinued safely at their exact titration rate (the only way that makes sense) that when you are off it even if not immediately whatever anxiety symptoms were there before will return full fledged. Better to change it than stop it. Speak to your psychiatrist about this.

Wow - that is such a small dose - its harmless.  Perhaps its the night pill that's making you sick... Either way, go and speak to your Doctor.

Hi there

I never had any symptoms with Xanax, apart from feeling tired - but usually a nice cup of coffee fixes the problem.

Xanax is supposed to relax you - it seems to be doing the opposite to you.  However, I think my mother-in-law said she had some weird side effects as well when she started, but continued taking the tablets and after a while she said that she felt great.

I had all those feelings you're describing when I was on Zoloft.

We're talking about very small doses by the way.  We both take 0.5 mg twice a day.

Sometimes you have to be patient. If you're really worried, perhaps speak to your Doctor.

I think the pamphlet also states that you may experience some side effects as well.

What is your dose?
