Yes hobbies are a great way to pull your attention away from depressing thoughts through the day, and to find hundreds of sites with ideas just go to new hobby ideas on the net.

I love to write music for mandolin and piano and ofcourse classical guitar.  ANother thing I love is to wood carve. Great therapy. But the most important thing and the most enjoyable or me is to talk with people. Milliona of them. Each one has at least on good story in them. I guess I am a people adict. I take to anyone and everyone. From Saints to sinners thes planet has em all.

I hate to exersize.

Hello,

Yes excersize does help allot, as it releases Endorphines, which is the hormone that makes us feel good!

My hobbies are mainly looking after exotic animals. Today I came home with two adult boa constrictors, and a 6ft vivarium.
I love looking after these animals as some can be demanding, and I like to feel that I'm  wanted. It's aldo been proven that pets help stress, so it's allot of fun!

Thanks

Yes, when you are depressed you just sometimes want to just sit at your house. Go take a jog at a park, that's what I did and it nearly killed my depression.

Sometimes when really depressed it is impossible to do a hobby.  But if you can it really does help. I have suddenly become a dog lover + I take my two dogs to obedience classes.  I paint - anything really creative is fantastic at stopping you thinking about yourself, you go into a zone and start thinking about colours.  Like I can wake up in the morning thinking, "I've got to change that red and make it lighter", if I was painting the night before.  I read as well.
