Withdrawal symptoms can last more than a week for many of us. I've been on two meds where there the withdrawal lasted almost two months. We're all so different though it's hard to say how long it will last.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well on Pristiq. Yes, it is very expensive. Hopefully the start up side effects will be gone soon.
Thanks for your comments on my post. I did go back to my doctor and he said that withdrawal should have been over after a week so the symptoms I'm having are from my original depression. I talked to him about returning to medication but trying something other than Celexa. I'm now on Day 2 of Pristiq SR. Not too bad so far. A little dry mouth, tiredness and a restless night's sleep which I can put up for now. I'll see the doctor on Dec. 16 to see how I'm tolerating it. If it seems OK, I'll continue with it. I'm glad my husband has a drug plan though as it is much more expensive the Celexa.
I guess I have to wrap my head around the fact that medication is something my body needs to work well. Just like anyone with diabetes or heart problems, medication helps them live a normal life.
Thanks again.
It could be either one of them. Yes, it could be withdrawal and may go away soon. Or, it could be that you need the meds.
It's really hard to say how long withdrawal will last. We're all so different and some of us have almost no withdrawal symptoms after tapering and go on to feel just fine with no depression.
It's up to you of course if you want to start back on your meds. I understand what a hard choice it can be. You also have the choice to give it a little more time to see if you feel better.
I wish I could be of more help to you. I've been through this myself. It's a hard decision to make. I'm on meds right now. It's the best thing for me personally.
