I was put on effexor and Geodon for ptsd. They were working, put it seems they've stoped. I hate going to sleep. Its hard to be relaxed enough to fall asleep. I get so sick of these meds i want to stop them

I built up a resistance to Effexor XR long ago. I took it for 4 years at 350Mgs a day.

Upon the 4th year I noticed it was fading. It happened slowly until I felt almost like I wasn't even taking my meds. That's when I had a relaps and they had to find another med combination that worked.

I don't care what anyone says, there are no antidepressant that one can not build tolerance to. I have built tolerance to 8 different antidepressants (even Tri-cyclics) in the past 19 years.

It happens all the time to people. The doctors don't usually tell people that they can build tolerance, but you can for sure.

I am having the same problem with effexor and someone told me that you can become tolerant to it and I also want to get off of it.

So they used to work well for you and then faded in their effectivness?
If so, how long were you on these two meds?
