Depression and Dementia

Can depression lead to dementia and Alzheimer's?

There are different causes for dementia, and nobody yet knows for sure what causes Alzheimer's, though inflammation is a big suspect.  If depression causes you to not eat healthfully, not exercise and to not exercise your mind, I suppose that could be a contributing factor, but I wouldn't worry about things science doesn't understand yet.
