Meds that compliment Welbutrin

I am at the maximum daily dose of Welbutrin (450mg XL). It's helping somewhat, but I feel I need something more. Is there a medication that compliments Welbutrin?

You ask if there is a medication to compliment Wellbutrin XL.
This is a question that in my opinion you would be better to
discuss with the doctor who put you on the Wellbutrin XL.
I take Wellbutrin XL  or Bupropion as it is also known, but only
150 mg once a day.   Take good care, Eve

hello megan. i am on both wbhtrin and celexa. 450 then 20 celexa. i can feel it is helping. took a fricking montg though. im bipolar 1 and i def believe its helping keep my mood up.  then again i have been on everything. u mite respond rite away. hooe this helps!! also. u may have to take it in the evening but it can be sedated. im on 900 mgs of seroquel so it doesnt bother me much.

Hi.  I was on Wellbutrin for a few years.  Now, I am on 150 mg of Zoloft and Klonopin ( .5 mg 3x a day).  I have been a clinical depressive since the age of 9 and was diagnosed with atypical depressive ( which I believe refers to the anxiety disorder).  Wellbutrin worked well for me but at that time I was on Celexa.  For some reason, Cymbalta caused bad side effects ( blood pressure dropping real low...nausea), so that is when I was put on Zoloft ( 50 mg ) about a year ago and slowly increased to my present dose.

venlaxaine is meant to work well with it as considering that combo as for me it and escitalopram was working pretty well for a few years and now not sure.

Welbutrin tends to work better when combined with an SSRI or SNRI type drug. Welbutrine can also be combined with Tri-cyclic or Tetracyclic antidepressent medication.

Welbutrin works in a much different way than meds such as Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, ect...
It is not uncommon for doctors to prescribe Welbutrin along with SSRI meds.

The SSRI that complements Welbuterin best? Most play well with Welbuterin. It's more a matter of which SSRI is best for you and sometimes that can take time to find out.

Just let your doctor know that you need to hit your Depression from a different angle and I'm sure he will find the right SSRI to add.
