Mirtazapine/remeron side effects after two years??

Dear
I use mirtazapine 30 mg for more than 2 years
Ii went to specialist for thyroid to do ultrasound
Because i have elevated TSH
5,34 (0,465-4,68)
And swollen scallop tongue last few week
When he heard i used mirtazapine he went on computer online and check few sites
And told me that i have elevated level of TSH because of mirtazapine
And swollen scallop tongue because of mirtazapine...

Im confused have can i have side effect after two years
Can you give some advice please

TSH doesn't really tell you what the problem is -- you have to test for the individual hormones to tell if you have a thyroid problem or not.  TSH is just a warning test to search further.  And if your doctor told you this is a side effect of your medication, feel glad -- most doctors won't even do this little bit of research.  I'd talk to your psychiatrist and see if he or she is aware of this problem.  We aren't going to know more than a doctor.

Thanks for replay,
This doctor is crazy, just because of elevated tsh he gave me medication to low tsh,
But I told him that I used mirtazapine , and he went on google typed mirtazapine elevted tsh, clik one link , (which I check at home, because I saw what he was reading, and there is no study that shows elevated TSH bc mirtazapine)
I dont know why he referred that, if its falls
So how he give me easly medications just on TSH results, and then changed his mind, I got red flags that he wasn't very professional..
They are human as we , and I think he made mistake..
