ViePax XL

Hi,

I've suffered with depression since having my son 17 years ago, I've been put on many different meds, prozac, sertraline, dothiepin, amitriptyline, mirtazapine, citalopram, I'm now on Viepax XL 75mg (since yesterday) and was wondering how well they work for people? as I don't want to be changeing meds every 5 mins.

Thanks in advance

Kerrie

Still feeling a bit ugh and not sleeping too well, I did speak to my doctor about it, she said I could come off of them if I couldn't cope with the side effects, but I told her about you and said that I would like to give them a proper go before giving up.

I feel more or less the same as did before I went on them, maybe it's still early days? It's only been 3 weeks on Thursday since I started them. I had a mega downer over the weekend, all kept doing was sighing. Sometimes I feel a bit like a weirdo as I've been on so many meds and nothings worked, not even counselling.

Sorry about all my typing errors.

As I had been on Effexor XL before, and it suited me so well, I suppose I just felt I wanted to be on it again.  I don't suppose the Viepax was any different.  You know how it is with depression, wanting to feel safe.

Sounds like the meds don't suit you.  Know what you mean about not wanting to keep switching.  How are you feeling now?

Ahhh, looks like my msg didn't post yesterday lol.

I inboxed you.

I've been feeling quite rough, I suffer with ibs, it seem's to have triggered that, getting heartburn, stomach pains, sweats, wakeing up way to early, already takes me a while to get off to sleep!

How come you switched meds? If you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the note and replying to my post.

I've  had depression for 20years.  I also have been on many different anti-depressants during that time.  Viepax is the generic name for Effexor (Venaflaxine).  I was put on i8t, but asked to be put on  the actual Affexor XL, which my doctor did.  How are you finding it?

I cope well on Effexor with no side effects.
