Weening off Cymbalta

Currently I am taking 60 mg of Cymbalta, I started out taking 40 mg for about 1 month, and my doctor upped my dosage to 60 mg, I've been on this dosage for about 2 months, I would like to ween off this drug. What is the best way to go about getting off this drug? This medication was prescribed to me along with Suboxone to curb withdrawl symptoms from prescription pain killers. I am off the Suboxone and want to get off Cymbalta, and I have read some statements from others who have been on Cymbalta and heard the withdrawl from it can be horrendous.

i have taken from 60mg-90mg a day for the past couple years. I decided i wanted out because if I missed just a couple of days taking it I would get withdrawl symptoms and start feeling anxious again.  I have found it to be extremely addictive and hard to come off of.  We first cut the dose in half, which gave me intense withdrawl like migraine, nausea, hot flashes/cold sweats, etc.  I went back up and now we are only going down 10mg steps per month.  I do still experience withdrawl but it is manageable.  Basically for those who are fighting addiction they are just replacing one drug with another. I guess maybe it is easier to manage coming off a prescribed antidepressant than other drugs?

I would really like to know how you are doing and if the cymbalta helped you. I was on 12mg of suboxone for about 2 months starting in feb '8 for norco (100mg) dependance. I have tapered down to .25 suboxone/day and am stopping this week. However since I started suboxone I really lost motivation, isolation, and have become really anti social. The DR prescribed cymbalta today......7 days at 30 mg and then another 7 days at 60 mg and see what they do......Do you regret taking the cymbalta?

The withdrawls are terrible from cymbalta. I've been on 60mg a day for years and occassionaly i forget to take it. Oh MY don't do it. see the paxil withdrawl info at this sight. The same if not worse. At times the flashes of light and dizziness nearly make you pass out. Especially dangerous while driving. Be cearful. I don't see how I'll ever get off it.
