Wellbutrin XL
My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! I can't afford to pay $120/month just for these....isn't there anything cheaper that would help? I heard sometimes people take Ritalin with Wellbutrin - would that help to lift my mood and keep my energy up? Thank you!
Talk to your doc but when my Wellbutrin 150xl and 300xl stopped working I added St. Johns wort 300mg standardized extract from natures bounty. It says to take 3 pills a day w food but I would only take one pill a day at first and then sometimes a second one. Never 3. I noticed a big difference in my mood and motivation but I monitored myself closely.
Don't EVER take Ritalin UNLESS you choose to become trapped and shut in your own mind. Ritalin shuts you down
I actually emailed the doctor and she increased the dose to 300mg, I feel better now...thank God...this medicine is really helping but I still overeat and am not able to set goals, etc. etc. but I guess this just takes time...........
Wellbutrin takes at least a full two to four weeks before any effect can be realized. Given this fact, it would be very unusual for you to have been feeling better after only a couple days on it.
If you have been taking it for at least 6 months and it still is not helping, then I can say with about 95% accuracy that it will never help you.
Welbutrin doesn't work for everyone. It only effects the reuptake of Doapamine in the brain and nothing else. This action is just the ticket for about 20% of people that suffer from Depression and Anxiety, but the other 80% do much better on an SSRI, SNRI, or Tri-cyclic antidepressant.
Only a small portion of depression sufferers have Doapamine related depression. Odds are that your depression is not related to Doapamine levels.
If you must pay cash for your AD meds, may I suggest buying your meds from an online Canadian pharmacy. You can get most AD meds very cheap this way and the quality is just as good.
It's perfectly legal to order your AD meds this way, as long as you have a prescription from your doctor.
I buy my Nortriptilyne thru ****.com and I pay only 14 cents per 25Mg capsule.
Compare that to $2.50 per capsule at my local drug store. The savings is HUGE.
