What is anyone's experience with the effexor xr

I've taken dose 2 of effexor xr this morning. It was not near as bad as dose #1 the day before. I was sure I wouldn't be able to deal with the side effects. I'm still not sure I can handle the lethargic feeling I have. I am Normaly an energetic person. So any input is helpful

With antidepressants, side effects start right away but the effects don't start for 4-6 weeks for most people.  Always make sure you need medication, meaning your life is pretty badly disrupted and therapy or other life changes haven't worked.  But if medication is what you need, give it some time.  Everyone has a different reaction, so nobody can tell you how you're going to react.  When a drug works really well the side effects are easier to handle than when it doesn't work very well.  Sometimes start-up side effects go away, sometime they don't.  It's such an individual thing, but if this is truly what you need, you need to be more patient than 2 days.  For me, the two antidepressants that actually did anything sedated me a lot, one it went away and the other I got used to it.  Best of luck.
