My daugher

My daughter has be diagnosised with social anxiety disorder and depression. She is 21 and it seems like we are not making any progress. She is on paxil and does have some days but she still takes the littlest things and make them into mountains. She has been in college but has recently decided to take some time off because she gets overwhelmed. Unfortunately, we can not afford to send her to therapist so we have just been having our family doctor to monitor her meds. The reason we can not afford the therapist is because all three of us had surgeries a couple of months a part and our insurance sucks. Sadly we live in a small town in the middle of nowhere limits us. I am currently trying to find a place that can help us but it may or may not work because we are not in poverty level. My question is, how can we keep her in a level mode until we can get this all worked out?

Having been through a very similar situation with our son who is now 41 and has been doing so well for a number of years I encourage you to "hang in there" she really needs you ,although there will be times when you feel that you are not making any headway  I know.
I truly do feel for you all, it is so difficult, but you obviously are great parents, she is a very lucky young woman to have you ,so many folk cannot cope with these situations.
Just try and take one day at a time.
My husband suffered a severe depression lasting three years, he finally came out of it but it was so difficult for all concerned , so I do understand what you are going through .

All the best .

Thank you for your wonderful comments. We do try to do what we can for her. She is the most amazing daughter anyone could have. Not only is she my daughter, she is my best friend. I just wish I could do more to help her through this.

It sounds like she has very special parents that love her very much.  You got half the battle won right there. All the medication in the world can not compare to a parents love, espically at this time. Support and Love.

Good luck
