My mom is 69 and wants to stop taking pain pills due to the control they have on her life mentally and physically. Her doctors dont have interest of her getting off meds so asking for publics help.. Thank You
Namaste,
Discontinuing a medication without the knowledge and consent of your doctor can de extremely dangerous and he/she should determine a proper schedule for withdrawal if appropriate, since you didn't state why you want to discontimue the medication.
As for your second issue, the answer is yes, taking Lexapro and Apipex concurrently can cause negative ineractive effects which only your doctor or pharmacist can determine, so speak to them about taking these medications together.
Again, don't try discontinuing any medication without the advice of a doctor. The adverse effects aren't worth it.

Cold turkey in SSRIs feels nasty (I've done it by accident). If you have a doctor monitoring your meds, go back to him or her and plan a slow weaning off process. Starting by halving your does on alternate days for a couple of weeks, then decreasing it a bit further is a good start point. If the weaning starts to give you withdrawal syndroms, then you should go back up and try to decrease it slowly.
I can't help with the serotonin syndrome, but again your doctor/chemist should be able to help you!
Best of luck with the weaning off!
