How long have you been taking Effexor XR.
I only ask because it worked great for me, for about 3 years and then slowly became non-effective. I had to switch meds and add Lamictal to get effect back.
I am new to this medication/depression thing.. but also in therapy. I recently started Wellbutrin- which works on different neurotransmitters (I'm pretty sure Norepi and Dopamine)... I also recently was told to buy a "workbook" called "Mind over Mood" by Greenberger and someone else.. These things are working for me. I'm also learning to be open and a little vulnerable... I've watched my mom struggle all my life- so I'm trying to make a difference in my life... trying to make a better life for my family to be.
Thanks for your letter. I have been under a doctors care for many years. At this moment I am relatively worry free and stable but I can sometimes start worrying for no reason, as they say, if I don't have a worry I will invent one.
I am new to this forum and not too sure of m way around yet so if I miss a reply etc. excuse me
been in your shoes, too..are you depressed ???? If not please see a doctor. Beleive me I know..because I am just getting out of that. a bit at the time and meds re evaluated get help, because that is not a life.
I have no interest in working in my home I just do the essentials, I want to sleep a lot when I am down. I have got out of the habit of wanting to go out socially. I feel sad most of the time. I blame myself for everything, low self esteem. I want to live a long long time but cannot stop thinking about how little time I have left and have
been like that for a long time irrational or what!
Do you have a psychiatrist? that would be the most important question. There are other meds, not in the SSRI/SNRI class that can work wonderfully. Do you have any other symptoms besides depression. The more info you provide, I can at least guide you in the right direction. :)
