I think you should change your medication as presumably the burning sensation is a side effect.  I am on Effexor (Venlafaxine) and have never had the burning you nprescribe.

Also brain zaps usually only occur when withdrawing from the anti-depressant.  If that is happening, then something nis definitely wrong.

How are you doing now?  Have you changed the medication.  You do understand I hope that withdrawing from Venlafaxine will give you bad side effects, including brain zaps.

A doctor will help you change from one medication  to another.  You have to try different anti-depressants, until you find the one that you can tolerate and makes you feel better.  Effexor does that for me, and I have been on many different medications over the years.

Please let us know how you are now.  Keep in touch

its very hard to describe brain zaps unless you've had them- if you are having them- you will definately know. To me, it feels like a quick shock every time i move my head or even sometimes just move my eyes looking around, it really does feel like a zap in the brain that lasts only a second but typically it happens repeatedly, like i said anytime i move my head, take a step. Its an awful side effect! As far as the burning sensations I have not heard of that- ask your dr- could be an allergic reaction?
