Cymbalta is an SNRI which may make a difference for you. I took it for about 2 years and had no side effects.
This med can be great for depression. I do hope it works well for you. It is in my experience with it one of the more stimulating meds so if you do have any start up side effects it may be a little trouble sleeping and things like that. They should settle down though, if you even get them. And, this med should not cause any sexual side effects which is a plus. Keep us up to date on how things are going.
I took my 1st one yesterday AM and couldn't sleep at all last night. I had to take a sleeping pill in the middle of the night and feel awful today, had to call in at work. This always happens when I try medication and is the main reason I end up stopping after a month or so. Will it subside or should I stop before getting in too deep? I am afraid to have another nightmare month of insomnia and sleeping pills like the zoloft trail.
I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
