A lot of times, these meds have transient or start up side effects. They are temporary and peter out. It's your body getting used to the medication. The medications can have more chronic side effects but you usually notice that later.  I'd say that you should stick with it to see if these things go away and the medication ca help.  About 6 to 8 weeks is a good time to know for sure if it will or not.  If the side effects are 'too' much for you, then talk to your doctor about trying something else. I took one SSRI and had this weird head tingling.  I couldn't stand it.  We stopped that one and I tried another without that issue.  So, if it is not too bothersome, stick with it, if not, talk to your doctor and choose something else to try. good luck and I hope it works for you!

Okay, first, the triggers don't cause your anxiety, they trigger your anxiety.  While nobody knows where anxiety comes from unless it's from a physiological cause such as blood sugar problems or thyroid problems or something like that, anxiety comes from our thinking.  While there are things that make almost everyone anxious at the time, if you develop chronic anxiety it's not caused by external events.  If it were, everyone would suffer from it because everyone has experiences that make them anxious from time to time.  So, the drug may not work.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.  But it's too early to know yet.  The average person notices a positive effect 4-6 weeks from the time you reach a therapeutic dose, though that time can vary a great deal.  So be patient, it isn't working yet.

I meant to add, but side effects start right away.
