Everyone is giving you excellent advice...I hope that you were able to get your script filled so you can get back on track. Also, you should ask either your Dr. or pharmacist the dose you should begin taking again....I'm not sure if you'll need to increase it slowly or not.
And yes, these drugs cause severe withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking them abruptly. Just about all of the antidepressants do....you must always work with your prescribing Dr. and set up a tapering schedule.
I hope that you feel better soon...and I'm sorry that you've been suffering, too.
My best,
xan
Ditto Hensley. You are experiencing Effexor withdrawl symptoms. People who run out of Effexor have VERY bad experiences. GET YOUR MEDS NOW! CALL SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP YOU GET YOUR MEDS!

First thing is to get your script filled and resume your dosage.
You absolutly can not stop taking Effexor cold turkey like that. If you do then you will almost always get very sick. Your head and brain will feel like jello, you will get dizzy, brain zaps, the whole 9 yards if you get my point. Trust me I know, Been there, done that.
After a few weeks back on Effexor, IF you still want to discontinue the drug then consult your doctor about a VERY slow taper off schedule. The slower the better when stopping Effexor.
