how do I feel normal again

I keep on getting treated for anxiety which I know I have but I think the real problem is I am severely depressed.  I have trouble getting up in the morning, I can't focus, and I have some really dark thoughts about myself sometimes. I am currently taking Zyprexia, my doctor tried to switch me over to Geodon, and I had a bad reaction to that.  She keeps on wanting me to be on these mood stabilizers.  I am not bipolar and have never been diagnosed with that so I don't know why she insists on the mood stabilizers.  Then I also take xanax and Ambien to sleep. I want to feel normal again.  I want to be happy, I want to wake up every day and feel refreshed.  I don't want to feel like I don't know how this day is going to be. How do I feel normal again?  I guess that is the true question. I would do anything just to have a good day.

HI

I think the root cause of your anxiety is your depression, and your body's natural alarm system is sensing this and well this is why your body cannot relax, because it is on safe mode basically until you feel like you again. In my case, my anxiety is annoying ofcourse, but at the same time it detects my depression before I really sit down to think about it..something has been bothering you subconsciously and making you sad for a long time, and your anxiety is sensing this damage. The fog is the anxiety, you cannot concentrate bc something IS bothering you, you are not at Peace with yourself, hence you cannot possibly get a good nights rest..I think you need antidepressants SNRIS OR SSRIS to treat the anxiety and depression , not the stuff he has been giving you...try another doctor hun, dont worry you are not going crazy, or imagining things...you just need the right help..

Has the Dr tried to get to thr real reason for your depression and anxiety, one relly need to know the cause, and then go from there, do you know why you are depressed, do you have any reason to be anxious, also you do not give your age, or say how long you have been in treatment  Luck  jo
