The key is to be wise. Seanol, for example, is being sold for profit by Dr. Sinatra, who should know better. While there are many seaweeds that are wonderful to consume, be careful with brand new supplements that have never been consumed by humans. Seanol is one of those. I don't say don't take it, I just say, the safety of most natural supplements comes from generations of recorded usage. When you use something brand new you don't have this history, which is what's wrong with pharmaceuticals -- they are sold to us with no history of long-term use and we are the guinea pigs for them. You are also a guinea pig with seanol. I'm a big believer in natural medicine, but don't think that it's all "natural" or all safe. Be careful with all forms of medicine.
Hi there, your post is a little hard to follow.
I'm assuming you're saying that you had a bad experience with Lexapro, and now you're trying a more "natural" approach? If you find something that works for you, that's super.
As far as the whole pharmaceutical profit motivated argument, of course that's true, but the supplement ("natural") industry is a big money maker as well. You'll get that with almost anything.
The important thing to remember is that you're trying to address how you feel, which is important, and it's always going to be largely a trial and error process, whether you've chosen to go the Rx route, or another way.
Good luck to you, keep us posted on how you're doing!
