low mood after exercise

Im not sure if this is a right forum but my question concerns low mood. It happend to me recently that after physical exercise ( pilates, weight lifiting) i noticed a huge mood decrease. I dont know how to explain that. It stops you from enjoying life. I tried some supplements as i thought it might be because of lack of witimins and minerals but didn't help much. Is there any explanation for that?

The toxins and carbon dioxide will be thrown out with this pranayam, and your metabolism will improve.Start doing this pranayam, twice a day, and let me know how you feel after 9 days.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Kapalbhati pranayam -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

IMO there may be something else at work here. After the gym you should feel better not worse. Alchohol is a drug like anything else, it can cause mood swings, and depression (usually the day after for me). When you get depressed or begin developing anxiety you tend to notice things more ie. heartbeat, "food moving through your body".

If you have been depressed for over 2 weeks, its best to see a doctor. The faster you act, the better chances of recovery :)

I truly appreciate your answer. Seeing a doctor is probably a good thing but it sounds strange explaining to him that i "feel food moving in my body".You are definitely right about the higher expectations in those days but this kind of feeling after exercise happened a day before as well but I thought it was just this one time. It happened a few times in the past but since it hasn't been for a while i thought my life was on a good truck again. Why did it have to happen on my birthday , ehh i feel i have no control over my body, my mood at all.
Thanks for the suggestions for  the stuff i should check!!
Yeahh heard of water a lot, as a good remedy.Havent tried any depressants as i conclude my problem is a digestive system. I dont know if it is a good approach or not but i find it hard to accept myself being cured for depression and taking medicines for that.
Hope things will get better. All the best for you!

Happy Birthday x x x

Depending on the kind of food you are eating it can take appr. 3-4 days to move through your body. Food can have a lot to do with moods. Have you had a health check recently from your doctor? If not it might be worthwhile to get your homocysteine level (Vitamin B), Serotonin levels (Amino Acids), Blood sugar levels and Chromium checked. Sorry, it sounds very medical but any of these or a combination of these could be having something to do with moods and depression.

Try not to worry too much over your unhealthy period in your life and the damage. We all go through periods where we live far from ideal. The body and the brain are amazing and have the ability to heal things we neglected at times.

It sounds to me that you have had a good turn around with your life and are getting back on track with things. Drinking... well, yes, it puts on weight, and affects moods as well as the body. But my personal opinion is everyone has something they enjoy and usually isn't good for ourselves. As long as it's balanced and you are aware of it... so why not enjoy being bad once in a while lol.

Something what would come to mind is ... when it is Christmas or Birthdays or other big occasions a lot of people tend to feel that their expectations haven't been met and that is a great downer or cause for arguments. I guess I am wondering if on this occasion your down time might have been linked to something else but the exercise.

And one more thought is.... Water. I am not sure what your water intake is, but it is a big element in health, mental health, weight and exercise.  If you don't like water drink a small glass before something passes your lips (food or drink). I find it is the best way to get into the habit of drinking water and especial with Alcohol it dilutes the levels in your blood.

Try not to worry too much. If you do feel in becomes regular to be feeling low after exercise I would definitely ask someone from either the gym (Instructor, teacher etc) or a Doctor for advice. Take care for now.

Well I've been in a lower mood for a few months already after some stressful time connected with major life decisions. There was a time like a year ago  when  i was drinking wine and beer daily, wasnt eating much and not properly. It resulted in insomnia, depression, lack of energy. Especially my metabolism and digesting ( which was never perfect ) got much worse which i improved later by self-medicating using natural products, mostly fiber based ones.
I still get my moods but since my digestive system has improved, my general mood has improved as well but in general i have more tendency to feel low so to stay it in a good shape i try to exercise a lot, get some sleep and eat healthier.I still often get a feeling as if food was digesting really slowly and sometimes i can feel it "moving " in intestines for a few days and exercise always used to help make it move faster.
I still drink occasionally and have to admit sometimes its 3 or 4 times a week-a bit of wine or beer mostly.
Yesterday I had birthday, i was extremely excited and happy about it but after classes of "body art" as i mentioned my mood decreased immediately. Had problems with concentration and getting back on track.I don't know what to do now and where's a problem. Im just worried this unhealthy period in my life has caused some huge damage in my body. Your response is a huge help for me.

Hi kaass, do you notice low moods at any other time as well or is it just immidiatly after exercise? Usually Exercise increases the production of your happy hormon and lifts mood on the whole. You'll find your seretonien levels will go up with your exercise and this is in straight connection with depression. It might be worth while to speak to a pilates teacher about their experience. Could it be the surroundings you are taking your exercise in? The mind is a powerful tool and there is many things we take in, without being aware of it (lighting, people, other stress factors not connected to the exercise). What would happen if you changed the type of exercise... move it to some exercise outdoors maybe? Sorry, I know, a lot of questions, but I think as more info as more people can help. Could it be that you are wearing yourself out? I am just wondering if it is only connected to your exercise or if there is anything else where you might get symptoms?
